Famous 5 drinks of 2026 globally. Find out which drinks are the official number

What Is Gong Cha?
Gong Cha — which means “tribute tea for the emperor” — was founded in 2006 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and has since grown into one of the world’s most recognized bubble tea brands, with over 2,100 stores in 20+ countries.
2026 update: Gong Cha 2.0: The 2026 Global Pivot
In early 2026, Gong Cha launched its first major brand
refresh: Gong Cha 2.0. This global modernization initiative is now
expanding systemwide to meet the demands of a faster, more digital world..
The 2.0 focus includes:
- Super
Wu Automation: Named after founder Wu Zhenhua, this system prepares a
drink in roughly 30 seconds (down from 90!), ensuring a perfect
"Golden Ratio" of tea and syrup every time.
- The
"Double-Handed" Ritual: To keep the "Tribute Tea"
heritage alive despite the robots, staff now present every drink with both
hands and a personal greeting.
- Digital-First
Experience: New 2.0 stores feature dual self-order kiosks, which now
handle over 70% of global transactions.
Note: After shuttering 29 outlets in late 2025,
the Gong Cha 2.0 will relaunch in 2026 has prioritized pure teas like Alisan
Tea to align with Singapore's strict Nutri-Grade health regulations.
So… What Should You Order at Gong Cha?
Let’s be real, the menu is a lot. Toppings, tea bases, foam/no foam, sugar levels… it’s overwhelming. But I wanted to figure out what people actually love. So I did the digging.

Annabel’s 2026 Verdict
"In 2025, I was a taro skeptic, but it's
grown on me! For 2026, I wonder with the automation if the consistency is will
finally be achieved. My one piece of
advice? Don't go 0% sugar on the Milk Foam series; it needs at least 30% sugar
to balance that salty cream!"
Here’s a simple way to choose based on your taste:
-
Love classic milk tea? → Go for Black Milk Tea with Pearls
-
Want something refreshing? → Try QQ Passionfruit Green Tea
-
Craving dessert in a cup? → Pick Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea
-
Prefer something unique? → Choose Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea
-
Like creamy, subtle flavors? → Go for Taro Milk with Pearls
π Pro tip: Don’t go 0% sugar on milk-based drinks — around 30–50% sugar usually tastes best.
