CHICHA San Chen — what’s good? What milk tea should I get?
For someone who had never heard of this Taiwanese tea brand until stumbling across it, the dilemma is real: Where do I start on this massive menu?
If you’ve seen my earlierGlobal Top 7 drinks and Chicha San Chen overview, you’ll know this brand has serious tea credibility , we’re talking similar to Michelin Guide recognition, award-winning tea bases, and a patented teaspresso system that brews each cup to order. It’s known for being a more refined, tea-first alternative to your usual bubble tea chain.
However, in humid Malaysia and Singapore, do locals love the same drinks? Or are their favorites a little different from the global top 7? What should I order?

๐ CHICHA San Chen SG:
Nutri-Grade & Calories (2026 Audit)
Drink Name
Nutri-Grade
Health Note
Bubble Milk Tea
Grade C
The "Cream" base increases saturated fat. Swap
to Fresh Milk for Grade B.
Brown Sugar Bubble Milk
Grade C
Highest in sugar due to the brown sugar syrup and pearls.
Fruit Tea
Grade C
Natural fruit sugars. Best ordered at 0% or 25% sugar.
Sakura Oat Milk Tea
Grade C
Oat milk is lower in saturated fat than cream. Konjac
jelly is a low-cal topping.
Dong Ding Oolong Latte
Grade C
The Borderline. Can hit B at 0% sugar
Mango Cream Pie
Grade C
High in sugar and fat from the mousse and mango syrup.
Iced Peach Tea
Grade C
Refreshing and light. Konjac jelly adds fiber without the
heavy starch of pearls.
Osmanthus Oolong w/ Honey
Grade C
Honey is a better alternative to white sugar syrup. Only
pure tea (no honey/milk) stays in the A/B zone.
Imperial Taro Series
Grade C
Real taro paste is dense in natural carbs/sugar.
๐ก Why is everything Grade C?
The Singapore Nutri-Grade looks at two things: Sugar
and Saturated Fat.
The
Fat Factor: CHICHA’s "Cream" and even their "Fresh
Milk" have enough saturated fat to trigger a Grade C label
under the strict HPB guidelines.
The
Pearl Factor: Since the pearls are slow-cooked in honey/syrup, adding
them automatically increases the sugar percentage of the cup.
Annabel’s Verdict:
"Let’s be honest: you don't go to CHICHA for a 'diet'
drink—you go for the Michelin-star quality. While almost the entire menu is Grade
C, it’s because they use real, rich ingredients rather than watered-down
alternatives. If you want a Grade B, your best bet is the Dong Ding
Oolong with Fresh Milk at 0% Sugar, but even then, it's a close call!"

๐ฌ My Take
What I love most is how customizable the drinks are. I
usually skip the boba and say yes to mousse (their cream top is
legendary!). If I’m watching my calories, I can swap to Fresh Milk or Oat
Milk to make sure it fits my daily goals without sacrificing the tea
quality.
I am partial to their Mousse, so far it’s the thickest top of the drink I
really like. Sometimes when its just a thin layer I cant really get the flavor
out of it.
A Note for Malaysia Fans: As of early 2026, CHICHA
San Chen has expanded slightly in Malaysia but remains quite exclusive with around
6-7 prime branches (mostly in KL/Selangor like Pavilion KL, Pavilion
Bukit Jalil, and AEON Cheras Selatan, plus Johor Bahru and Melaka).
It's definitely less accessible than other chains, but absolutely worth the
trip for that "Teapresso" precision.
